Blog 12: Faces Continued

A lot of people know Sierra Barnwell on a surface level, they just see her as an athletic cheer leader that had lots of school spirit.  5’10” long blonde and a smile on her face.  She is much more than that.  She lives at home with her little brother and mom and dad.  She doesn’t live near the Willow Glen area so has a long drive everyday to school.  She manages to wake up earlier get ready and always show up to school on time.  Cheer is very time consuming, takes up most her time after school.  Some practices can go till 8 at night, leaving her not much time for homework and studying and no excuses.  She get everything she has to done, no matter how much sleep she misses out on.  Being on varsity cheer and competition team, this means she needs to give all her free time to staying focused on cheer and practicing.  She would never want to let her team down, her roll is very important to the team.  She is a back spot this means she is the main support base of lifting the ‘flyer’/ ‘stunt’ cheerleaders in place.  With her mind just slightly in the clouds she could drop her person and lead everyone to serious injury.  This can be a dangerous sport if you don’t stay committed dedicated and on task.

On the weekends Sierra loves to watch tv, her favorite shows included South Park, Jersey Shore, and various Holiday movies like ‘Elf’.  Also of course taking care of her brother and small light brown with some white haired chiwawa.  She likes to brush her dog and snuggle up with it when she watches her tv.  Her phone is her favorite electronic devise.  She can communicate with all her friends and use her favorite app ‘SnapChat’.Picture 10  With this she can send fast video messages/pictures of funny faces, this makes her laugh.  Part of her routine weekend Sierra go to tumbling classes at Vegas Tumbling on 1111 Fliepe dr on the East side of town.  In this class she goes for a total of 4-5 hours on normal.  2-3 hours for her cheer team, and an additional 2-3 hours of extra practice with the professionals there.  Cheer is expensive, she can’t pay it all by herself she fundraises and does bake sales/ car washes ect.  Also lots of begging to her parents.

Who is Sierra as person?  Cheer leader? Nerd? Blonde? All can be terms people might call her, some rude, yes, stereotypical, most defiantly.  She is someone that doesn’t care what others think of her and sticks out among the crowd, whatever she wants goes. 405513_130788157037092_1688965493_n Extremely independent and does what she has to do to get the grade, the trophy, or whatever she is reaching for.  Sierra Barnwell, someone that cant defined in one word, cant even be defined in several.

The Image of Willow Glen High School

I believe that Willow Glen High School is an excellent school.  There are 1600+ students at are school.  My perspective on the school is that it is a very good school.  The staff is great and keeps the students well behaved and in shape.  I came late to this school, but all the kids  here were very welcoming and nice.  I feel that the people in the community of Willow Glen should like the school and most likely do.  That is why I will be doing an interview on the people in the community ect. on there opinion of the school.

Reflecting on the Process

1.  When we planned, we tried to think of good questions to ask we took lots of thinking into our questions.

2.  Creating a public service announcement helped me with my topic because after learning from different people, myself and the internet I have learned so much and how bad anima extinction really is.

3.  We used all different types of transitions and we enclosed them because they looked good, and served the purpose.

4.  The effects we used affected a lot to the meaning because they really put the whole presentation together well.

5.The word added helped the viewed know who is ho, also there also and occupation in some cases.  As a plus it looks more professional too.

6.  To me, my final project mean helping animals by spreading the word on animal extinction.

7.  I hope that my PSA expressed a importance of animals and how they are in danger and we should do what eve we can do to help.

8.  I learned a lot about technology I learned how to used software like imovie and iTunes, also garage band too.  In general this project has helped me be more tech-savvy also by spreading the word on animal extinction.

PSA Evaluation: Anti-Racism

1.  The message that this PSA is trying to portray is the message that racism does exist but it is getting better.  And that it shouldn’t matter what race you are.

2.  They used very well written questions that made the interview think about it and have to answer in a full sentence.

3.  If i had to make two changes visual in the PSA video i would have made the music more quiet in some parts and the talking louder, also on the 2nd to last slide you couldn’t read the writing.

4.  The visual representation added meaning to the message because you could see their facial reactions in the video as the question was being asked.

5.  Disscustion~

6.  The ultimate message o gain when i watch this is to not be racists and that there is no need to be.  Also the way others feel towards the topic and questions makes you think about it, and how it makes people feel bad.

7.   This topic was expressed perfectly, because I (and im sure a lot of other people) feel the exact same way towards this topic.  That racism exists but can be ignored, and how you can also help but not being a part of it.

PSA Evaluation: Breast Cancer

1.  The message that this PSA is trying to portray is that Breast caner is a very serious topic and shouldn’t be taken for granite.  Also that there are are ways to help out and prevent.

2.  The question showed in this video and real life experiences shared in this video were very inspirational and really makes you want to help out the cause and to support.

3.  hey only thing i would change is lower te music in some parts and higher the volume on the talking.

4.  You can see their facial expressions and sadness

5.  Disscussion~

6.  The message that i gain is to support in any way I can and help out.

7.  This was a better interruption of the topic.
